L'amour C'est Super Cool Come Ca

Here are a couple older tracks you probably haven't heard before that are pretty fabugogazen.  You may wonder what fabugogazen means, I am not sure.  I just made it up, it sounds pretty awesome though.  I am dreaming of white fluffy snow, wondering when it will arrive so that I can strap on my new Ride DH2, and listen to some of my favorite tunes while daydreaming flying down a mountain.  I'll have to settle with dreaming about it for now with some dreamy tunes.

First off, great remix of Don Diablo's - I am not from France.  I was not into the original mix at all but this has a big room space sound to it that is dreamy.
Don Diablo - I am not from France (Louis La Roche Remix) by dondiablo

Next up, Chromeo Remix that is Killer (with capital K), I am hooked on this one it has less of the Chromeo disco feel but will all that Chromeo trademark sound.
Surkin feat. Chromeo "Chrome Knight" [Tommie Sunshine Relax Edit] by tommiesunshine

Here is a great 1928 remix, I had never actually listened to it till I loaded it into a mix with a Honey Trap song that I love and they both complimented each other so well.  It was like white on rice with these two, I will make sure they always stay close together in my file folder so that they don't miss each other or get lonely.

College - Can you kiss me first (1928 remix)

We Have Band "Honey Trap" (LE MATOS extended remix) by LE MATOS

Here is a remix from a Sneaky Sound System Track, they never hit it big in america  but they are huge in Australia.  I've never really been a huge fan of the Sneaky until someone remixes their work, then they grow on me for a bit, and fade after some time.  Fred Falke did right by them with this remix.

Sneaky Sound System - I Love It (Fred Falke Remix)

That's my rant for this glorious Monday morning.

Saturday Dance Party Party

Happy Saturday, are you going to be dancing tonight?  I wish I was but if it is going to happen it will probably happen on my living room dance floor which I am entirely ok with, not sure if my mates will enjoy that at all though.  So I spent some time working on the blog format, it appeared that everyone except myself could only listen to the first 30 seconds of all my songs, so I decided to not be cheap and buy some storage space online for the tunes.  I think that if two people are trying to listen to the same song at the same time the song won't get past buffering, if you have any troubles let me know.  I was up ridiculously early this morning, like 6:30 and all I could think of doing was turning on the decks and making noise, but with a lot of effort I refrained and just left my headphones on (which I'm pretty certain you can still here from the second floor).

Here is a new big room trance house mix from 94', Jerome Isma-Ae remixed this old track, I think it is out on beatport on Dec 7th and is glorious.  Took me a long time to find something without Pete Tong's Voice in the background, I really dig this.

Jazz + Wicked Chops = Jazzy Chops

I discovered Vincil From Ummo this morning to share with the rest of you.  If you are into jazz with break beats all chopped up, this is for you.  How on earth have we gotten this creative as humans?    I hear really good things about the album but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, this video is pretty wild.  I think I will have to include this in my small intimate Bouge shows from time to time, so good.

A couple Jingles for the Holiday Season

So given that were in Canada and very few of us celebrate American Thanksgiving  I feel that I will celebrate it for everyone else, not because I love the Holiday but because I am off work for the next two days and I am real excited to watch football tomorrow.  While I prepare for this event, I will share some of this weeks great finds.
So many to choose from, not sure where to even start.  Well Fake Blood remixes are never a bad start so check out a Remix of Hot Chip – Touch Too Much.  I don’t know a lot about Hot Chip, maybe they wanted to be called Hot Sh*it but that didn’t work with their label so they just decided to go with Chip because Chips are tasty & delicious.

Hot Chip - Touch too much (fake blood remix)

After that we have something new from the Crystal Fighters.  At first this didn’t really work with me, the song is a bit all over the place to be honest and not that much fun to listen too, but when you start trying to remix “I LOVE LONDON” or I Love Lawn Mowers as my friend Mike thinks she is saying and loop it into a Body Rox – Yeah Yeah Mix it actually sounds pretty cool.

I Love London (In Flagranti Dub)

Bodyrox - Yeah yeah (D. Ramirez mix)

Here is another great Ducksauce track, when that album drops it will have already overplayed it to the point that I can no longer tolerate listening to some of these tracks but they are so good, it is really hard to stay away, kind of like how I feel about beer at the moment.

Duck Sauce - Grand Steppin' (Original Mix)
And last but not least something a little more mellow from Penguin Prison, I'm still on the fence about these guys but they have been getting remixed by all sorts of big names so they must be doing something right.

Bouge out of the way for the VCI 100 SE

So this weekend I decided to add some more gear to my collection of toys, with a AxiomPro25 Midi Keyboard/Beat Masher which is totally amazing and quite possibly the hardest toy to setup and figure out along with Ableton Live.  I also got myself some new headphones, having listened to what the experts had to say I decided to go with the Pioneer's HDJ 1000, wow are they ever amazing headphones.  If your ears could make love they would do it with the HDJ 1000's.  These two items compliment my original purchase so well.  I was a little worried I had spent too much on my midi controllers when I ordered the VCI 100 se but ever since I saw them showcased on G4 TV I feel reassured that I made the right price.  In no way have I perfected any of the sweet moved Ean has in the following video but I am learning slowly what works best for me, how to get around traktor and mapping my own buttons to do what I want.  I have Red, Blue, Orange, Green buttons instead of the hot Pink ones in the video but you'll get the idea real quick.

Blakroc

So usually by this time of year most of the good albums that were expected to drop would have come by now but there is one slated for November 27th that will probably be epic as far as Hip Hop / Rock Collaborations go.   The Black Keys decided to key up with some huge artist with most of the sessions being videotaped which will most likely lead to some sort of DVD release later on.   Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch, RZA, Jim Jones, Nicole Wray, Q-Tip, Raekwon are just a few artists on this album.  It reminds me a bit of the roots, I imagine the rest of you are probably as excited about this as I am.   Here are a couple samples I’ve dug up, I feel like my Hip Hop Vibe is maybe on it’s way back.

Goood Morning World!

So as I get ready for work I am generally automatically drawn to my computer for a couple minutes in the morning, usually making me late for work but I don't care as I need something fresh to listen to today.  I've quickly discovered a really cool remix compilation this morning called "Verve Remixed".  I believe there are 4 Volumes, here is a taste of something off Volume 4, a classic from Nina Simone called Sinnerman remixed by Felix Da House Cat.  I've always liked the original but this is a pretty cool house mix.  I should probably go to work now, they are paying me to do that and not to sit here trying to come up with something to say that is more meaningful to say that I just don't have in me this morning.

What is a Toecutter?

(picture stolen from stopthenoise.fr's blog which blogs about what french people do better than everyone else)

So listening to my favorite disco house track from Toecutter this evening made me really stop and think for a sec, what on earth is a toecutter?  Is that something I do my nails with? is it a tool used to remove peoples toes? Is it a song that is so good you cut your toe somehow from dancing so hard?  Anyone? Wikipedia didn't even have an answer to this, and wikipedia knows all.

Either way this track is heavy, it really takes a long time to build, but at 1:05 it takes off and doesn't look back, unless it is to see how many people are dancing.

Say Yes

Here is another Thin White Duke remix of Snow Patrol's Latest single "Say Yes". I'm still on the fence with this one, I didn't really like the official single but I can cope with this remix, maybe even listen to it more than a couple times. I think I have a case of the Monday's this morning, time to go slave myself to the man.

Muse - Undisclosed Desires (Thin White Duke Remix)

Pete Tong dropped a bomb of a remix on his Radio Show last week that I am ridiculously excited to share with you.  Truthfully I had lost interest in Muse the last couple years, but this remix can't go unnoticed and will get tones of attention in the clubs.  The Thin White Duke has put out some incredible remixes this year, one of my favorites is from the Love them or Hate them "Friendly Fires" Jump In The Pool remix.  I'm not sure why the Friendly Fires haven't hit it big in America like they have in the UK, one of the best albums this year in my opinion(which means very little I suppose.  If you haven't heard of them I would highly recommend their debut album,

Enjoy!

Load Track, Play, Crowd Goes Wild, Glow Sticks, BOUGE

So I've had some time today to go through a couple hundred songs and here are my favorite four that put a big smile on my face and made me want to wave my arms around my living room by myself.  Is that weird?  I get this feeling sometimes that I need to cheer the music on, but that could be the booze talking.   These tracks are Bouge Certified, the Rebel Rebel track is by far my favorite but the rest are pretty wicked.

Diamond District

So the last couple months I've been living under a rock when it comes to keeping up with my Hip Hop Roots.  Anyone who knows me knows that secretly Hip Hop is my true love and that one day I will take the world by storm with my freestylin.  A couple friends keep asking me when I am going to record all the wicked versus I've been kicking in my van in between calls for the last 10 years but I just don't feel that the world is ready for them.

So this morning I woke up, had a coffee followed by a Corona (since it is my day off and it is not a crime to drink beer at 9am) and I've discovered Diamond District.  I haven't been this excited for any Hip Hop artist since Lupe Fiasco hit the scene with Kick Push many years ago.  Lupe became commercialized and nothing was the same ever again.  I would put Diamond District as one of my top 5 hip hop artists of all time in less than a day.  The Vibe around these three guys is going to be huge, and they are going to kill it.  Check out a couple singles their debut album "In The Ruff".

2ManyDJ's @ Hard Haunted Mansion

One of my Favorite DJ Duo's in the world are back on tour, this stop was the Halloween Night @ the Haunted Mansion in L.A. What I would have done to be at this festival of fun.   Maybe next year  if I don't end up at I love Techno 2010 in Belgium.  This is one of their better mixes I've heard in a long time accompanied by some amazing visuals.  Even Beethoven got in on this mix, check out some live footage from youtube.  If you get bored fast forward and check out the Guns & Roses Visual at about 6:55 mins.

Ready, Set, Bouge

So I've been away a while, I disappeared off to Cuba for the last week with a couple good friends and had a nice relaxing time.  I spent most of my time listening and mixing tunes pool side which was quite the perfect little holiday.  Resort was shit, and the place was crawling with Lions, Tigers and Bears but all and all I've come back well rested and ready to go back to work and take this DJ/Producer thing up a notch.  I've been playing around with my new VCI 100 SE Arcade Edition Midi Controller and am hooked.  After much consideration I think I am going to go with Bouge as my DJ Alias.  Bouge made a couple mixes on vacation and remixed a song which I am putting some finishing touches on.

So a week has passed and I have so many new tracks to listen too, I've decided to post my favorite that I couldn't stop listening too on vacation.
