So the weekend is over, and I'm a little bit exhausted from all the partying but so many new tunes to listen to and a couple of days off work will definitely help me relax. I had a chance to check out Yves Larock on Thursday night, I didn't even know he was still around and touring still supporting his own hit from 2007, Rise Up. He played a good show dropping some beatport top ten with a little old school MJ. If you haven't seen the official rise up video you should watch it, the cinematography is pretty cool.

On Friday/Saturday/Sunday I got to spend some time in beautiful Goderich, Ontario for a wedding which I happened to be DJ'n. For those of you who know me, you probably know how I feel about top 40 music so clearly DJ'n a wedding isn't really my thing but it turned out to be more fun & challenging than I had expected. You always worry about freakish technical difficulties during the first dance or father daughter dance but luckily it went off without a hitch. I also got some pretty odd requests or people requesting some brutal songs. Trying to please multiple generations of drunk people isn't as easy as I thought it would be but went off ok. The wedding was a great success, which might have had something to do with the open bar but I like to think I had something to do with it. I didn't stray to house music but I did play some pretty sweet remixes like Alex Metric's Sabotage & Soulwax remix of The Rolling Stones Satisfaction. Haley & Andy, thanks for a great weekend; I had a lovely time.
Next, I've recently discovered a producer/DJ called Monkey Safari. There is a wicked Monkey Safari mix set on Soundcloud you should check out too but I really liked this video/track and wanted to share it with you more then the mix. Hope you all had a great weekend and had as much fun as I did.
