I love these guys. How old do you think this girl is? These guy are the future of house music, so clearly she recognized by allowing her ass to be on the cover. Get on board if you aren't yet because it gonna be a hell of a ride.
So much great music coming my way lately and it doesn't look like its going to slow down. Mad Decent dropped a great Savage Skulls & Douster track available on Beatport. I love the tittle, 50 Cent definitely had it all wrong with "Die Tryin".
Next time I am stuck at a fork in the road, I hope it resembles this one. This is probably one of my favorite three way intersections on the planet because every time I make the turn it's all smiles. Continue up this road for a couple kilometers and the first house past the cemetery on the left is one of the greatest places on earth (Arguenos, France) . If I ever created my own studio in France it would probably have to be there.
I've been so slow at posting this but I felt like I needed to drop a real solid track for those of you who are bored tonight and don't have HBO. Wes, sorry this took me so long to get out. I've just been overwhelmed with so much awesome music lately. When most people think of France they think of Wine and Cheese. Now when I think of Wine & Cheese I think of a producer out of L.A. Wes Cadwell who goes by "Wine & Cheese". The Chase, his most popular work to date is really solid disco house track. Make sure to check out his soundcloud page if your into disco house, he definitely has something special in the making.
Vacay Vitamins dropped this preview to a great Deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner collaboration. It didn't take long for me to figure out that this is going to be a monster over the next couple months. Play. Dance. Fist Pump.
I'm going to cheat and add my "Lost In Transition" mix to this post because I can since it closes with this track.
I bet you that the guy in the picture above party's super hard on the weekends. His belt is what does it for me. I dropped a couple gems last night @ NV, sadly there was very few people there to listen to them. I suppose it was a Thursday night, your all excused for now. Such a great room, just need to find people that are as deeply into house music to fill it. T minus two weeks or so before school kicks back, kids I'm counting on you to come out and party as hard as I did back in my University days. Here are three tracks I played earlier in the night, all three are softer grooves and are all super dope cool. Oh, and before I go poof for another day I meant to thank a great guy in Montreal (you know who you are) who gave me the best compliment last weekend. Even if it wasn't true, it was so sweet. Pascal, "Your music makes me want to take pills". Thanks for a great party.
Three Summer Mixes dropped this week from three of my favorite DJ Tandems. Well 2 and 1/2. Mehdi put out a summer mix without Riton who is the other 1/2 in Carte Blanche. Yolanda Be Cool and The Round Table Knights are the other two mixes. All three are great summer chill mixes.

I'm probably not going to be able to post again for a couple days so here are a couple tracks that will make you bop your head a bit. I wish I had time to write a little more about them individually as they all deserve a little more than just a flash player and tittle.
DJ Sdunkero - Choosing Love
Gold Panda - Snow & Taxis
Miami Horror - Holidays
Scissor Sisters - Any Which Way (Carte Blanche Remix)
Months ago I blogged about this remix, and it is finally going to be released in early September. Video is a bit weird/freaky but the song is real solid. On a different note I'm really sad to hear the singer of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool committed suicide after their pukkelpop festival show. Debut album out soon. What a waste..."imagine none of this is real". RIP Charles Haddo.
I heard this the other day and then spent a week trying to figure out what it was. Something about it makes me want to wiggle a little. Warning: Clicking the play button below may make you want to move your feet or body in positions you may not be used to.
Can't really say much about this because it speaks for itself. Picked it up on beatport in time for tonight's show @ NV lounge in Guelph. I'm pretty sure this is the first time anyone has every played dubstep @ NV. Dubstep lovers will probably hate how soft this is, and call it commercialized crap, I still love it.
Bouge
.....The morning after mix...from the night before. Legoheads = Bouge + VanWailin, recorded the first hour and the last hour. Both were awesome but I decided to share the first hour with you. Hope you enjoy. Track listing is in the soundcloud comments
So if I base the quality of my last couple posts by comments or hype machine hearts no one cares for them. Your loss, as they are all amazing tracks or great up and future releases. If you don't like them we can't be friends. I'm kidding, but not really. Same goes with the following post, real solid house track that takes a while to get to the point but isn't that the way we want it? Maybe not 17 minutes long but a good build up makes for real solid transition in your DJ set. I'm sitting on a lot of things I want to post right now but don't have a lot of time, if any of my readers are interested in joining the whyfukkwhenyoucandance.com wolfpack, drop me an e-mail. Application process is simple, your 5 favorite DJ's/Producers of all time, 5 favorite tracks in 2010 and 2 favorite releases in August 2010. Only other stipulation I have is that you buy music to support the artist when you blog about it when available. The only way producers can continue to create is if they can afford to live. Blog focus is primarily disco house/french house and I tend to stray to tech house and minimal. I really would love to post a couple a solid track more than once a day as I've been real overwhelmed lately and just can't find the time to get it all out.
Alex Metric is on a tear lately, I don't think this guy ever stops working. Then again he has the best job on the planet (DJ/Producer) so how can you blame him? He dropped his August mixtape this week that has a couple killer tracks on it. His Ellie Goulding - Skin Salt remix is out on itunes August 30th, probably my favorite track off the mix. A close second is the intro track by the Mystery Jets - Dreaming of another world (Lindstrom & Prins Thomas remix).
On a different note something that has no importance to any of you whatsoever, I'm going to Montreal this weekend. Giddy up.
Yolanda Be Cool & Dcup's We Speak No Americano is a phenomenon in 2010. It is fairly rare that a house music track ends up as top 40 favourite unless you're David Guetta. These guys came out of nowhere and are having an outstanding year. It's great to see them succeed, I'm hoping a North American tour is in the works, be sure to catch them if it happens as I've heard it's quite amazing DJ's. Here is a remix they did of Jazzbit's Swing Swing Swing 2010 remake. You'll probably really dig this, its slowly growing on me.
Jazzbit(Yolanda Be Coop & DCUP REMIX) - Sing Sing Sing
Can you say massive? We Should Bang Tonight EP coming soon via Mowgli (Only a Preview of four different mixes for now) on Deadfish Records. I was going to wait till tomorrow to post this but I couldn't help myself and wanted to get this out tonight in case I don't get time tomorrow or I die in a freak lighting storm. This EP is ridonculously dirty and will be my new late night party anthem. I always slightly worry that I might offend someone when I play tracks like Le Le's - Breakfast or Mowgli's - We Should Bang Tonight but then I have a couple of drinks and my censor button generally disappears. Get on this Deadfish Records release, it's a keeper
If we were in 1842, this is what the Chemical Brothers would look like. Ok, more seriously strap yourselves into whatever it is that you're sitting in because this Chemical Brothers Remix is going to take you to a whole other place. If you're looking for a really good, hard house track to launch your set into the next level then you have to listen to this. This came off of their Another World EP, available on Beatport any day now.
Jeepers Creepers, Round Table Knights never put anything out that isn't anything short of amazing. Kind of upset that I missed them @ the social a couple weeks ago. If you've never heard of these guys, get on it. Calypso is probably still the best track to destroy late night dance floors in 2010. It goes way outside the lines of conventional house music and is a pretty epic track. Their latest release Cut to the top isn't to shabby either and has been tearing up a couple charts. This swiss duo has really got something special going, always excited to hear the next release. Enjoy!
Sometimes I wish I was born a little younger and could have experienced the 70's in something other than diapers. If I had a Disco Love Affair I imagine it would probably be wearing Roller Skates. One of these days I might get some vintage skates and DJ in them as that would be pretty wicked. Ghosts just released this track for limited free download on soundcloud.com, I suggest you get on it. Ghosts of Venice is a Disco/House producer out of Leeds and has something really good going right now. Check him out on twitter to follow up on future releases while laughing your ass off at some pretty hilarious tweets. If Producing doesn't work, he may be able to make a go at stand up comedy.
New Cassius track is prime for remixing. I may have to do my own remix of this track. I feel like if I was going to ever produce dubstep it would be a dubstep mix of this work of art. This is going to be real huge for these guys, maybe bigger than 99. Check out this radio rip preview and you'll understand what I mean. Oh and they are in the Ed banger crew so the entire ep will probably be epic.
So last night I played a small Thursday night set @ NV Lounge in Guelph. I haven't taped a Bouge mix in a while so I decided to take advantage of the evening and recorded the first hour of my set. I also decided to drop what may or may or may not be a lower quality rip of Ducksauce's "Barbra Streisand" that will forever be a classic. The version in the mix isn't the same as the one below, supposedly according to http://www.vacayvitamins.com/ this is the real deal. Still no word of an official release date. Check out my soundcloud page to get the track listing or download the mix.
Just wanted to share an oldie but a goodie with my peeps. Hitiras is local Toronto talent who is is still going strong in 2010. Here are a couple different mixes of this way back play back from 2000. Contrast mix is pretty solid drum & bass track but I still prefer the Original Mix.
Only one of these on the planet and it's in my living room! Anyone got a lead on some colored knobs that will fit this? I should make a Lego helmet and DJ with it on. Big yellow head would be sweet!
I'm neither the first nor the last to blogy blog blog this new Basement Jaxx remix of Vampire Weekend's White Sky. All I have for now is Annie Mac's Radio 1 rip to share with you, but I'm sure the official release will follow shortly. Plus realistically Annie's wicked Irish accent and enthusiasm only improves a track.
This beat brings me back to 99; it has a bit of that Stardust feel to it. If someone asked me to describe French house music I might simply start playing this track for them. Poka uploaded Style 99 to his soundcloud last week, I'm not sure if there is a release scheduled yet for this or not. I'm pretty sure this track is going to be on repeat over and over again the next couple days in the Bouge Castle. There is a little something something in it that just makes me want to bop my head to it repeatedly, today's soundtrack of my life.
It's 12:12, do you know where your kids are? If you don't have any kids do you know where you are? It's Monday night, if your into Toronto & bored you should walk go over to the social on Queen St W and dance your face off. If not(most likely outcome) enjoy a good night sleep.
How was your weekend? I worked all weekend but it was still pretty good. I went on a new music frenzy this evening, and the two tracks below are a couple of my favourites. The first Canblaster track is due to be released in early August and has a little je ne sais quoi? The second track is definitely my favourite of the day. This was released a couple of months ago but is just starting to get a lot of attention. The post below is the preview but I highly recommend buying the full version on beatport. The drop at 3:08 is epic. Ghosts of Venice was tweeting about it last night calling this track "amazeballs". I may start calling a lot of things "Amazeballs", as it is a pretty awesome way to compliment something. The picture above is amazeballs, taken at this years Block Party in Philly courtesy of Mad Decent.
It isn't often in life that someone gives you anything for free. There always seems to be a catch: like buying something else or having to give up some of your valuable time to listen to someone talk about something you simply don't care for. I promise you there is no catch here. Solid Bump Records is giving away Sammy Bananas remix of Adulture & OCD's Paper Cat (best one I've heard so far). By the way, I would also like to add that Sammy Bananas is the best DJ/Producer name on the planet. For those of you who dislike Paper Cat, it's ok. Not everyone can have good taste in music. Have a good weekend kids, don't misbehave but if you do just don't get caught.
Should we call you Lee or "Ghosts"? The fog machine is always in full effect @ The Social, did you feel like a real Ghost? Thanks for visiting our country, we had a great time dancing to your selection of tunes. Please comeback soon.
Pascal
I had a chance to catch Ghosts of Venice, The Tape Deck Bro's & Alex B @ The Social in Toronto last night. If you base your evening on how hot and sweaty you get dancing then I had a really good night. All three DJ's/Producers were playing fairly different styles that complimented each other really well. Tape Deck Bro's really have mastered their mixer effects, it was pretty awesome to watch. If you are ever looking for a party on a Monday night in Toronto, The Social is your venue. Tape Deck Bro's have a residency there and are really taking it to the next level. Place was really packed for a Monday night of a long weekend, I was pleasantly surprised.
Now for today's business, a couple different DJ's have leaked Aeroplanes new remix of Chromeo's Don't Turn The Light's On. It is pretty amazing, you should listen to this. If you don't like it, we can't be friends. Video is also pretty awesome, especially when the lights go off.
Preview of Chromeo - Don't turn The Lights Off (Aeroplane remix)
Since I'm at home having a great relaxomondo day on this fine Canadian Civic holiday, I've got nothing better to do than watch Law & Order reruns and look for some new tracks with my iPhone4. I wasn't going to post anything other than the Magna post for the day but then I came across this track and had to share it with my online friends since it is discotastic. I found this in Marice Tamraz's Two Dollar Bin EP, and uses a Gloria Gaynor sample that you should pick up on right away unless you've been living under a rock your entire life. Enjoy!
Maurice Tamraz - Somebody Got Jacked (Original Mix)
Magna, a real young producer out of Pennsylvania (still in high school), is releasing his third EP on the 14th of this month. I really enjoyed a track he produced a couple months back called "Power Supply". His new track "Are You Ready" is pretty decent and will make it's way into my digital music box when it becomes available. Check out the rest of the EP, it has a couple other good tracks. I really liked "When It's Over", a quality party entree to an evening of French/Disco House.
