Elephant Attack EP

Prince Club have been on my radar for a while now, these guys out of Montreal are going to be huge if they keep at it.  Discobelle Records have just released their new EP "La Charma" available on beat port here.  They are classy guys so they were cool with giving away one of their remixes for free, you can download it here. La Charma Pt. Happy Friday, 

I'm probably the 1000th guy to blog about Skrillex - Scarry Monster but I don't care I still love this track. I'm convinced there is some sort of conspiracy over at Beatport that put most of their album at the top of the charts. I haven't had a chance to listen to many new tracks since I got to London, my MacBook is on the fritz. Trackpad went and the OS/Hard Drive went 45 minutes after recording a really cool house mix.  Mix is called Chelsea to Westdale, and hopefully is still on the drive.  I'll put it on SoundCloud when I get home as it is pretty chilln' and wicked at the same time. The data is still on the drive I think but it just hangs on boot.  I put another spare drive in and it works ok. This is like the 10th time I'm redoing the OS on two seperate solid state drives I've put into this mac so I think I'm going to have to go back to a regular drive.  MacBooks's are supposed to be reliable which is why I jumped in with and iMac and a MacBookPro but my experiance has been nothing but reliable with both machines.  Anyone else have a rant about these things?

A good friend of mine in France introduced me to "Chinese Man".  After listening to a couple chuunes I was sold so I thought I would share a track with you.  I've moved on from France and am now kicking it chez mon Frere in London town visiting the latest addition to my family.  My brother was also nice enough to get us tickets to check out Chelsea last night as they hammered MSK Zilina.  Walked around Hyde Park at high noon and am looking forward to the next couple days here before heading home.

If you are just getting to work I dare you to turn this up and dance around the office.  That big trademark Afrojack sound is coming your way once again.  I'm pretty sure if someone put me in an Afrojack blindfold listening test I could pick him out every time.  I am still uncontrollably addicted to this sound, it never gets old.  I heard somewhere that this was played at WMC, if he managed to keep this off the streets till now he has way more self control than I'll ever have. Pete Tong recently dropped this on his radio show, hopefully there is a scheduled release :)  I also have it on good authority that if your looking for a bang'n podcast you should check out the Sensation series on iTunes.

Bonjour les amis, hier soir Toulouse ma montrer une super soirée de Musique aux Nuits Sonores.  Carte Blanche (Mehdi + Riton) et Erol Alkan on détruits la salle.  Je dois dire qu'ils on vraiment des talents ridicule avec un mixeur.  Mehdi et Riton doivent etre le duo DJ le plus content dans l'industrie., toujours avec les plus grands sourire dans la salle.  Si vous cherchez la définition de "Cool" dans le petit LaRousse il y est indique que "Carte Blanche" comme synonyme. 

J'etait super impressionner avec les deux autre présentations Péa qui je pense faisait une genre de production live sur place dans la salle et pas du dj.  Je devine, mais j'ai eu cette impression.  Et puis la Joy Orbison ma vraiment surpris.  Je suis pas sur comment décrire son style.  Il a vraiment saisit la salle quand il a decider de jouer avec la Lil Wayne "A Milli".  Son interprétation était super hyper cool.  Avant de partir vers 4:30 du matin il y a  quelque hyper cool jeunes dont j'oublie complètement leurs noms qui mont demander si je pouvais les conduire a la ville.  C’était cool de faire votre connaissance.

Tron Legacy (End Titles)

Both the Tron Legacy movie and soundtrack have been hyped up for quite some time now.  Movie is out Dec 16th in America, hopefully it lives up to the high expectation.Daft Punk really has their work cut out for them to meet all the expectations from the hype.  They are off to a real good start with this preview.  

Tomorrow I get to check out Carte Blanche and Erol Alkan amongst others.  Giddy up.

Big. Very Big.  Very Very Big.  Louis La Roche dropped this in a Triple J mix he recently put together.  I didn't get a chance to check out the Duck Sauce set at WMC but saw a clip of this at a festival around that time and have been looking for it ever since.  Still only a radio rip but it is such a great song.  Sample comes from an old THP Orchestra song "Good to me".  Goody Two Shoes is only a working title that I read about from a very reputable source.  Oh and the Louis La Roche mix for Triple J is the bomb.  Does anyone know what happened to his release of My Turn? Enjoy this as it is so very very awesome.

I went for a long walk this morning with my Dad.  Great climb with lots of time for personal reflection.  So gorgeous at the top of Gare, it was quite the treat.  Got lots of great pictures and the some descent exercise for the first time in a while.  I'm not normally much of a trance guy but I stumbled across this remix of my favorite trance/progressive track for quite some time now.  This will probably never get old for me.

Life On The Farm

If you like your beats heavy and wicked have I got the anthem for you.  Last week I made a major error in judgment.  I was listening to parts of this Higher Places EP I blogged about and somehow overlooked by far the best track.  I picked up the full EP and was blown away by this super quick.  It has some real sexy saxophone in it and will get you moving real quick.  One listen and I was hooked, this is a definite keeper.

Don't Lose Your Soul

So I've decided to take a break from French language this evening  to share with you a special act that started in my hometown of Hamilton, Ontario.  I know I normally focus on mostly electronic music but believe it or not I do listen to something more than loops of wicked beats.  The Emerson Street Rhythm Band is a funky rock reggae experience like no other, guaranteed to keep your feet moving and your ears begging for more.  These 5 hard-working chaps from the Toronto area have been putting on original and crowd-pleasing shows in and around the Golden Horseshoe for 5 years now, and they show no signs of slowing down.  You can check them out at www.myspace.com/esrbisfunky for a taste of what they are capable of, and you can also download the track "Daily Operation" from their first album "Five Cents Short of a Dollar" right here.  If you're in Toronto and looking for amazing music, check these guys out at the Rose & Crown at Yonge & Eglinton on November 20th, and on New Year's Eve at The Cadillac Lounge.  They are currently finalists in the Whiskey Soul music video contest run by the LCBO.  Please take the time to vote for them no one deserves sweet victory more than these guys.

Vacances en Famille

J'ai décidé que j'ai envie d’écrire en Français ce moi ci comme je me trouve en France en ce moment.  Mon Français est super nul alors pardonnent moi pour toutes me fautes d’orthographes et de grammaires.  Je me suis réveiller a la fin de l’atterrissage avec une belle vue de trois avions Airbus Beluga.  Je vais aussi essayer d'exposer un plus grand variétés de musique.  Vito, d'Aeroplane a partager ce petit  morceau sur Twitter et je pensais que c’était quelque chose de doux et merveilleux.  Parfait pour un Dimanche soire.

This track has been stuck in my head for the last 15 minutes, and probably will be for another day or so.  Congorock is going to blow the roof off Tabu next Thursday night, in Guelph.   I won't be there but if you're a local blog reader make sure to check that show out.  

I bought a new pair of headphones for my trip today.  A good pair of headphones can make or break traveling.  I've been sporting a fine pair of Pioneer hdj1000's since last xmas but have slowly destroyed them.  I will probably continue to use them for DJ'n but they are way to big and bulky for travel.  I got the tiniest pair of Panasonic HC101's with noise canceling.  I can't see a huge difference with the noise canceling on to off, but they have a real nice crisp sound are mega mega comfy.  I would recommend these to just about anyone right now but I've only owned them for a couple hours. 

Have any of you gone onto any of these glory sticks that are supposedly popping up all over New York?  What would you upload onto a glory stick?

Drop the Lime is definitely trying something different and cool as fukk with his latest track.  I'm super excited to see what the girls of Russia and The Iron Curtain think of this.  The remixes should also be pretty interesting. 

I would also like to take the time to let you know that I'm going on vacation in five days.  My vacation will consist of a lot of this, better food, better wine & cleaner air.  That is right I am off to the south of France for three weeks to chill out at the family house in Arguenos (ww.maisonisabe.com).  Arguenos is the nicest little village in the Pyrenees.  Rumor has it I might be inheriting a donkey via a family friend which is totally wick news.  If that did happen I would try to rename it Kong.

If any of my readers happen to be in Toulouse, you should come party with me at Le Bikini next week when Carte Blanche (Mehdi + Riton), Erol Alken, Feadz, Joy Oribison, Danger, Pea destroy the room.  I've never had the chance to catch Erol Alken DJ'n and am super excited about it.  One more check on the DJ Bucket list.  Or maybe I'll party with you, I'm not sure I can convince any of my local friends to go to this show.
