Fu**ked Up

Blizko a new producer out of Belgium sent me a pretty cool track called F**ked Up.  It's just the right amount of catchy without the cheese.  Lots of releases scheduled for today and tomorrow.  Round Table Knights album Say What is out, new EP from Midland, Noisia has a new EP, Laidback Luke + Steve Aoki feat Lil Jon and many more.  Preview from an upcoming Thomas Schumacher Ep below, I really dug his EP out on Snatch a couple months ago.   Looking forward to this, sounds promising.

Sunday Night Banger

Picked up my first pair of cdj's today and a real mixer (2xCDJ900's and DJM 800).  Decided that controlerism is great but that I still want to perfect my skills on a real mixer and get a better handle on proper beat matching without software to do it all while learning the standard.  Pioneer really did get it right with the 900's.  I feel like I might not get a lot of sleep the next couple weeks.

As I promised this morning, a little boom boom for you kids staying up late tonight. Tai's new Big Bas Drum EP  dropped yesterday and a wicked remix of a new Depressed Buttons track from Reset! to share with you tonight.  Anyone still watching the Oscar's? I didn't think so.

7 Fingers just seems like too many to me for some reason.  Someone's probably wondering why did the thumb got left out?  Like he doesn't serve any purpose.  Couple softer house tracks for your recovery this fine Sunday morning.  I'll post a banger or two later today, maybe once the sun goes down.

I've been trying to decode the message in this poster for a while but haven't figured it out yet.  Maybe coded in this message is a way of obtaining the following three tracks in 320 for the weekend.
1. Mixhell's - Antigalactic (Mumbai Science remix)
2. High Powered Boys - UDON
3. Dr Gonzo - Bust Dem Up
I'll even take it in some sort of previews, as they are all sorts of wilds.

These will have to do for now. If you are in Montreal tonight Canblaster & Club Cheval are going to blow your mind @ The Blue Dog Motel.  Someone needs to bring these cool cats to the gta.

This is probably the most tracks I've posted on one blog post.  They are all pretty awesome, great way to start the party.  Giv'r.

If you are a more recent blog follower looking for some fresh sound and have never heard of Krusha I suggest you check out his SoundCloud page for some pretty amazing remixes.  He started blowing up the hype machine with his Cassius I <3 U SO Dubstep remix back in 2010 and has done some really cool work putting some edge on tracks you would really never expect to sound so good with a little boom boom.   His latest work is a pretty sweet remix for this soon to be released Queen of Hearts track Freestyle. Trust me, you will dig this.  Have a wicked good weekend kids.

Un Peu De Musique Pour Les Enfants

Me is a little exhausted this morning, been a good but long week and the old nine to five.  Gonna get this post off before I head to the work so I'll keep it short and sweet with a couple tracks from my Inbox.  First off a vocal remix of Fred Falke's -  First Move featuring Seb.  I don't get too many people sending me vocal edits and Seb has been fairly persistant and wanting some feedback so I thought I would help him out in getting this out there.

BURNS & FRED FALKE feat. SEB - First Move by sebmusic

Then I got a nice e-mail from a Miami kid who is currently a vagabond in Malaysia.  He got some time to make a remix for his buddies indie band Mischef.  This actually turned out quite well and I've had a couple listens and really dig the sound.

Michef - Mrs. Wesley (Remix) by Ruda Krishna

I also got a drop of something new from Retrotation a couple days ago that I've been meaning to share.  He produced a couple great Dubmas tracks over the holiday season that a lot of people really dug.  This is a little different, like minimal dubish sound.

POPPYSEED ( Electro-Nintendo ) by Retrotation

Hope you all have a nice Thursday.  I've got a pretty cool track to share with you tomorrow so make sure you check back.

Mixtape Monday

I heard the best mix of 2011 this afternoon while driving around at work.  Mumbai Science took it to the next level with this one.  Tommie Sunshine was also kind enough to drop me a line with his latest mix which was also pretty good and for those of you who haven't heard my latest compilation I thought I would include it too.

If you dig electronic music and want something with a little boom boom you will not forgive yourself if you pass over the Mumbai Science mix.  Turn down the suck knob & turn up the sweet.

You A Hootchie

I was listening to the weekly SoundPellegrino podcast last night for a bit while rearranging some furniture.  It was quite pleasant way to spend a Saturday night.  I think Teki and DJ Orgasmic should consider doing their podcast in French,  it would really make it that much better.  I can't tell if their accent at times are seriously what they are trying to sound like or if they dumb it up to give the podcast a comedy angle.  If you you've never listened to their podcast and you dig the type of music I post in this blog I highly recommend it.  These guys really know their stuff and put together a great hour of music every Wednesday.  Here are a couple tracks from this weeks podcast, I especially like Ghetto Fab.

Lazy Saturday

So I decided to check out Glow Stick Wars last night @ Mod Club.  Somehow this was my first time at Mod Club, I can't say I was overly impressed.  The club was ok, but there were an abnormal amount of douches partying.   At one point a couple A!#  holes were spitting blood all over people after a fight broke out.  Not a little blood, what felt like a pint between the two or three of them.  That can kind of kill a night sometimes, when you just want to listen to good beats and there are people being douches everywhere.  I don't know if it was me or the club but the music also wasn't very loud.  Could be me I was expecting some chest pounding bass and it just wasn't there.

Torro Torro played a pretty wicked set, they have some serious beats in their vault, really looking forward to their next couple releases.  Harvard Bass put on a great set considering he had to spent most of his time clearing his mixers and decks of glow sticks that were flying all over the place.  But I would have to say that Meati & Meech put on the best set.  They have great stage presence and played some pretty sick beats.   Keep and eye/ear out for these two.

Most of my pics or videos from last night didn't turn out the best so I posted a pretty cool youtube video of Teki dropping  a release I'm really excited for.  Look out for Dr Gonzo - Bust Dem Up, this should be a Miami monster.

Here are a couple tracks from Meati & Meech. The first one is a preview and the second is already out on Discobelle available @ Juno.

Paparussi

Hello kids, are you ready for another round of fresh new tracks to get ready for the weekend?  Round Table Knights are putting out a full album on Made To Play due out February 28th.  They were nice enough to share a bit of a preview for each track.  I was immediately sucked into a track called Paparussi.  Very very chilled tune, with some really great horns in it, very excited about hearing the full release.    Bag Raiders have a new EP out with a fresh new Armand Van Helden Remix.  All and all a good day for my ears.  I'm going to start a mailbag section tomorrow where I post some originals and remixes from some lesser known producers and maybe some bedroom producers just trying to get their music out.   Peace.

Ghosts

I haven't shown Ghosts of Venice some blog love in a while so here we go.  He is by far the funniest producer I follow on Twitter even though nothing he actually says is ever funny.  Hard to describe, I highly recommend following him, you'll have a better understanding of what I mean.  But more than that check out his productions, starting with his latest SoundCloud drops.  If your not familiar with his work, he is more of a filter/disco house Producer/DJ, whose really made a good name for himself in 2010 and loooks to have a real promising future.

Mouton

Here is my latest mix of what I consider to be the best of what I've been listening to and promoting this month.  I would love to take these sounds to a club in the near future and make a lot of noise on a serious sound system with my favorite peeps.  Promoters in the greater Toronto area get at me :)  This mix has a huge French influence to it, mostly because French people do it better.  Track listing will make its way into the SoundCloud comments section shortly.

Alfabet

A friend had asked me recently where I get my music from?  He was looking for a better answer than "the internet".  Sadly the truth for me isn't at a record shop.  Although I do wish I had the money for it but my stash of gold coins is light these days.  Here is the process that led me to the following outstanding track from Alfabet.

Alfabet - Roundabout (Alfabet = Awanto 3 + Tom Trago)

After listening to that Crazy Dooze Jackers remix of Torro Torro's Knocking Boots from my last post, I was left wondering how I let such a good track slip by me for so long.  Must have had m head buried in the sand or something.  So I went to check out the original here:

Torro Torro - Knockin Boots by T&ARecords

Seeing that the EP was out on T&A records which I had heard of before but wasn't familiar with there entire discography.  I'm making it a point to buy a couple T&A EP's this month as I've found a musical gold mine.  Preview and links to the collection here http://www.djayres.com/tanda/.

From there I was looking for some more information on a particular release I was reading about from the T&A label and came across this Russian Blog http://www.thewickedbass.com/ that will be now part of my regular news feed.  Thank you Google chrome for making translation so simple.  I went on to read a little more in the blog making this one of my new favorites to follow and came across Alfabet and one more track that was worthy of a share.

502:003 Teeth - Shawty/Shawty [FaltyDL Remix] by 502 Records

And this is where my story ends. From there I will browse on to some other page, choosing my own adventure.  This is all part of a very lazy Sunday after an incredibly long week of work.
