BKUPGRL

I was trying to find some music that might wake Steve Buscemi up and this is the best I could do.  I am loving this new release from J.Phlip & The Grizzl 'BKUPGRL'.  It has some of that big booty bass Steve's been looking for.  I've also included this sick free remix Swick remix from an older track that fits quite well with Bkupgrl. Who doesn't like it Sweaty Wet & Dirty Damp....really.  On another note  Mad Decent's 'Blow Your Head Vol 2.' is out today on Beatport.  Not a lot of compilations I woud be willing to buy but I get the feeling this is one for the ages.  Dubstep... step aside, Moombahton coming through.

Abe “Gettin’ Paid” Lincoln

I can't get enough of this guy's artwork.  Check out his other work @ http://masonlondon.tumblr.com/.  Abe needs to get paid, someone go get him a silver dollar or something.  New Nightshifters is coming int the form of an EP from Magnum called 'Grooveworks'.  This preview sounds like a very fresh, and has some promising remixes on it.  I really need to get myself a Nightshifters t-shit shirt at some stage.  I'm still listening to Canblasters 'Masters of Complications' EP quite regularly and love most of their releases.  The 2 Bears are back in the form of a 'Bear Hug' EP.  The tittle track is something I would probably used as an intro track but the previews sound pretty solid.  This is forthcoming on Southern Fried another great label, thats for not ruining the previews with 'THIS IS A PREVIEW' all over the track.

Dear Torro Torro,

Which one of you is Torro?  Or are you both Torro?  I'm still constantly thinking about that musical clinic you guys and Dillon Francis put on @ The Social in Toronto earlier this month.  That shizzle was next level and isn't to be fukked with.  'This Ain't No Country Club'. Great Preview of a track out on another one of my favorite young labels T&A very soon, pick...it...up folks and support these moombahton brothers.

Dillon Francis has put together this great Mixtape in preparation for the Hardfest in L.A. this August.  This is a ridiculously good mixtape, I can see this getting a lot of plays while BBQ'n this summer. The highlight would have to be the Big Pun edit, reaaaallllly good.

I came across this today on Top Billin's SoundCloud.  Not a lot of detail, I found a copy on youtube that said it was by an artist that goes by the name of 'Just Kiddin'.  Supposedly this is going to be released in June.  It's kinda like latin dancing meets Senta.  Either way it is a lot of fun, have a listen.

Bongo has a new track out on the Midnight Munchies compilation that is worthy of a blog post.   His twitter description was pretty classic.  "Bongo drums produce relatively high-pitched sounds compared to conga drums, and should be held between the knees with the larger drum on the right." Afrodisco is a very solid track on a great compilation, check it out on 'Legal Highs'.

A couple solid High Powered Boys previews of their upcoming Crash EP to start your week off proper. One thing became very clear to me this afternoon:  I don't listen to nearly enough Rinse.FM.  Rinse 106.8 in London is really a top quality underground dance music station and label that hasen't getting enough love from me.  I promise moving forward to give you more of my precious time.

I've heard this great track by a local artist out of Toronto that goes by the name of "The Weeknd".  They have an album called 'House Of Balloons' that is pretty superb.  While searching through some of their other tracks a came across an unofficial remix/bootleg by Lemi Vice that made this a bit of a heavier party track, pure sex.

What a great long weekend here in Southwestern Ontario.  Weather is great, everyone is in a super good mood and plenty of great music to go around.  Here are a couple tracks I really wish I had in 320 before the rapture takes us all away around 6pm.  'Adzuki Beans' stands out as the best thing I've heard today.  I'm not sure that means very much to anyone but it means a lot to me. 'The Highest Grade EP' is also a real solid preview, with great groove.  If the rapture takes place tonight the High Powered Boys are gonna be upset they didn't release this sooner.  Lucky for them, if it's the case they won't be around to complain about it.  Great radio rip from BBC show, so excited for Crash.

Head In The Mountains

Happy Friday Everyone!  This picture blew my mind yesterday and I have no idea why.  What are they looking for?  Someone told me yesterday that the end of the world got moved up to this weekend, so I better make this blog post count.  That and it's the weekend and we all need something fresh to listen to incase the world doesn't end, agreed?  I'm waking up listening to the preview of the new J Paul Ghetto EP out on June 2nd that I posted a couple days ago and it is a lot better this time around. I also totally forgot to mention that it was awesome in that blog post and to expect big things. Expect Big Things.  They are the disco/filter house kings as far as I am concerned, doesn't get much better.  For those of you who don't know J Paul Ghetto, formerly known as Swivel Hips & Maurice Tamraz have teamed up together to bring down the house.  Swivel Hips were one of my favorite producers for 2010, really looking forward to this upcoming release.

As for today's material, I'm gonna start with a great mixtape from Carte Blanche in celebration of their new upcoming White Man On The Moon EP.  This features a couple great previews like 'Jack On The Moon' & 'With You'.  But I also stumbled over a track I had never heard that is super solid from Hijack & Brabe called 'Boogie' which is super groovy.

Spidey

There isn't enough cool art like this in the real world.  I was at work today and spent a couple minutes watching a co worker clean up some crap graffiti tags all over our equipment.  Why is there so much crap graffiti all over the place?  Kids need to be taught a lesson, and stop markering initials all over the place.  No one ever looks at a tag of initials and thinks "wow, that is cool!" However I do support more spiderman, and quirky things that make our world a more beautiful place.  The tracks I've posted today are slightly off my regular beat & path.  Especially the Ellie Goulding & The Mumford and Sons remixes.  Something a little different, but both are excellent and deserve a play or two.

This just in: Research shows that 108 beats per minute is the optimal pace to fukk to.  Dillon Francis you are a genius.

I don't think that Moombahton is going to get much better than what I experienced last night @ The Social,  Sloooooooooooowed went off.  I  only caught half of Torro Torro's set that was pretty spectacular, the highlight being an unreleased track with a vocal sample that goes "This Ain't No Country Club".  Brilliant!  Dillon Francis put on a bass clinic.  If you haven't heard of this guy, crawl out from under the rock you live under and get with the program.  Spectacular show, look forward to doing that again someday.  I posted this Toddla T remix a while ago, it stood out a little but after hearing it proper last night it is at the top of my list today.

I've been a fan of Hey Today! for quite some time now and their new Minor EP is nothing short of Major.    The original is clearly the better track but Para One definitely raised the bar with his remix.  The minimix is a great preview, looking forward to picking this one up.
